Do I have to know how to swim for these retreats?

Great question, and the answer is: no, you don’t need to be a strong swimmer to attend.

While some of our mermaid and underwater activities do take place in the water, everything is guided with safety, support, and comfort in mind. We welcome all experience levels, even if you've never swum in open water before.

There are always shallow water options, floatation devices, and trained professionals (like myself!) to help you feel safe and supported. Plus, not all of the retreat activities happen in the water, there's so much magic to be found on land too: creativity workshops, mindset work, connection circles, and space to explore your inner world.

So if you’ve been called to this experience but felt unsure, take a deep breath. You are more than welcome, just as you are.

Is this experience just for models and actors?

No way! If you’ve ever dreamed of tapping into your creativity, exploring your imagination, or just feeling more free and connected, then this is for you.

Maybe you're a writer who needs a reset, a creative spirit who’s been feeling stuck, or someone who just wants to play and reconnect with their inner magic. Whether you're drawn to the ocean, storytelling, movement, art, or simply community, you belong here.

Yes, you are wholeheartedly welcome here. My retreats are built with care, empathy, and accessibility in mind, and I truly believe that creative spaces should be inclusive to every kind of body, mind, and journey.

If you have specific needs, I’ll do everything I can to accommodate them. Whether that means mobility support, quiet spaces for sensory rest, flexible participation options, or anything else, because your comfort and safety matter deeply. You don’t have to do things exactly like anyone else. You get to show up as you are, and that is more than enough.

Let’s stay in touch before the retreat to make sure everything feels right for you. You deserve this experience just as much as anyone, maybe even more.

Do you have payment plans?

Yes! We do offer payment plans at an additional / non-refundable cost of $100. Payment plans will start with a $100 deposit. Also, payments made in full have the benefit of having first dibs in room type!

Yes, you absolutely will.
Introverts are more than welcome. In fact, many of the most meaningful connections and breakthroughs at our retreats come from those who quietly observe, reflect deeply, and bring such thoughtful energy to the group.

You’ll never be pressured to “perform” or be someone you’re not. This is a space where you can simply be, recharge, and connect in ways that feel true to you.

“Hi, I’m Shannon, and I’m thrilled you’re here. If you’ve made it this far, I already know a few things about you… You have a deep love for creativity, your imagination runs wild, and you probably adore the Halloween spirit just as much as I do!

I hope you’ll join me for this magical weekend where we celebrate the holiday, the sea, and most importantly, YOU.

I created these retreats because, like many of you, I have spent much of my life feeling like a misfit. I craved a community where being different was not just accepted but celebrated. This retreat is that space!

I built all of my retreats at The Bright Stars Greenroom to bring you empowering, uplifting experiences for anyone ready to level up their confidence, build genuine friendships, and make memories that last a lifetime.
